I walked along a Tuscan ancient dirt road on a semi-cloudy day and beheld this exquisite group of brilliant red poppies in a field of tall green grasses of varying shades and depth, some being almost dark purple whilst others were unruly streaks of gold.
Flowering spring trees were in their prime just behind the palest grasses. The blossoms were of lush vibrant yellow petals with flashing white highlights and there were mauve wildflowers flowing around the tree trunks creating a mystical ambience.
Tall dark endless cypress trees stood firmly in the background with some lush light green/blue trees of a graceful and whimsical stature.
I sat down with my easel and folding chair and painted this glorious scene until the rains came.
