In May the Tuscan countryside displays a plethora of young dark vines attached to strong wooden guides to enable them to reach upward into the warm spring sun. As the temperatures climb, the vivid wild iris makes its way up from the fertilized soil and an enchanting ambience is created with the fresh new green leaves and stems and an explosion of vivid purples of the flowers. The grape vines stand out with an air of importance due to the intense contrast of colours
